Selling a digital file

I tried doing all these steps

1.

Upload your digital product to a file hosting site, such as MediaFire, Rapidshare or Filesonic. Upon uploading a file, you will receive a download link that allows buyers to download the item.

Go to the eBay website and click "Sell" at the top of the page. Enter your eBay User ID and password, then click "Sign in."

Click "Browse Categories," then select "Everything Else." Click "Information Products" and "Other." EBay requires that you only list digital goods in this category. EBay may remove digital goods listed in other categories.

4.

Add a title for your eBay listing. If desired, add a subtitle for an additional charge.

5.

Select "Brand New" as the condition for the digital item. Enter the item's UPC, if applicable.

Select a format and genre for the item, or enter your own. Click "Add your own item specific" to give more details. Click "Save."

7.

Click "Add pictures" to include images with the listing. Digital products do not generally need images, although at least one main picture will make your listing stand out to buyers.

8.

Click "Standard" above the item description box. Select a font type, size and color if you don't want to use the default font. Type a description of the digital item. Provide all necessary details, such as how the buyer will receive the item, the format of the item and how to view or use the item. For example, if you sell an e-book in PDF format, tell buyers that they will need a PDF reader to view it.

9.

Click "Fixed Price" to enter a Buy It Now price for the item. Most digital items only have a Buy It Now price. This allows a buyer to purchase and download the item without having to wait for the listing to end.

10.

Enter the quantity of digital items you have available, then choose a listing duration.

11.

Click "PayPal" in the Electronic Payment Methods section. Enter your PayPal email address. Click the check box next to "Require immediate payment when buyer uses Buy It Now."

12.

Select "Free Shipping" in the Shipping Details section. Add any other instructions for the buyer, then click "Continue."

13.

Review your item details, then click "List my item."

and then I got this message

It looks like there's a problem with this listing.

  You might be listing your item in the wrong category. Before completing this step, be sure to:

  • Use the Classified Ad format

  • List your item in the Everything Else > Information Products category

  Make sure your listing follows these guidelines.  If it doesn't, it may be removed, and your buying and selling privileges could be restricted.
