I have recently placed two separate orders for bookshelves (made in China) from two separate sellers. Both canceled the new-in-box orders, stating that the items were damaged. Both reported to eBay that I, the buyer, had canceled the order. I have received messages from eBay stating that the refunds were issued to me. This seems like a crazy coincidence - ergo... scam. There no longer seems to be a way to report this to eBay. When I click on the canceled order to report possible fraud to eBay, a page pops up that says that the item cost has already been refunded to the buyer, and that I cannot get assistance with the item. Is there not another reporting mechanism. At the very least what these sellers have done is dishonest and makes me look like an abusive eBay buyer.
