There is a recent surge of "brushing" frauds that Ebay must be aware of...but has no way of stopping? If a seller sends you a "gift" that has tracking applied to it, you should immediately contact Ebay (not just open a case/complaint because they are totally clueless) because you are unlikely to receive the actual item. Ebay sees that the tracking indicates something has been delivered and just assumes it is the item paid for.
I'm a little worried that some con artist will see this and think "Nice, I'll have to try that" but I am hoping that Ebay will wake up and do something about the problem.
