On 2/8 we ordered a shirt from a seller. The shirt arrived looking nothing like the ad so we returned it the same day. We've contacted the seller numerous times without receiving a response. Today ebay closed the return without us receiving a refund! WHY? Ebay made a mistake and won't help us. We will contact our credit card company for help. This is very frustrating.

I can't tell if you filed a Returns Request, and then printed out the return shipping label, and had the clerk scan the label. If tracking shows DELIVERED back to the seller, the seller has 2 days to refund you. If no refund, you go back to the Returns Request and click Ask ebay to step in, to force the refund.
It sounds like you never printed the label, or used your own label but did not enter the tracking number, so ebay thinks you never sent the item back and closed the case.

Did you upload the return tracking to the case, or try to? Was the return label eBay generated in the case?
Sometimes tracking does not upload correctly, or at all - it's an ongoing bug.
You can contact eBay CS to find out what happened and why it was closed, maybe they can help before you go to your credit card company.
