Rash of non-paying buyers

Is anyone else experiencing dramatic uptick in non-paying buyers? I've had nearly a half-dozen in the last month, amounting to several hundred dollars in sales (and therefore LOST sales). I don't think I've had that many in 20 years.

While my items are sitting in this limbo bought-but-unpaid-for status until the unpaid item case closes, I can't sell them to somebody responsible enough to PAY their bills.
