Problem with paying via Paypal at checkout

Since Monday, there has been a consistent problem with paying for an item via Paypal during the checkout process after buying an item on ebay. After numerous calls to Ebay as well as subsequent calls to Paypal, the problem persists. The last communication with Ebay made it clear that this is a general system problem with the interface of ebay with paypal...and yet the problem continues. This means that any purchase on ebay requires using a credit card to complete the transaction. Since ebay has required all buyers to NOT use personal checks or money orders and insist we use Paypal, many sales are not taking place because individuals would prefer to use paypal rather than use a personal credit card. This is an untenable situation and there appears to be no communication with the community on this issue.
