Packaging Large Magazines

I know about NOT using Media Mail.

What I need to know is:

-- how to physically package a large formal magazine (such as Life magazines) for mailing?

-- the best way to mail such magazines?

This suggestion may increase your shipping cost, but I have some large flat items that I slip into a Priority Mail box (in its flat state, the way you get it from USPS - I don't "construct" it) and then tape around the open edges.

That should keep your item flat for mailing, but if you think it has a change of bending, insert a piece of cardboard a little larger than the magazine.
