Messages are full of HTML and CSS

Like the title says, messages don't display properly. Not just the app either, I see the same code from inside a browser on the desktop. I also see no attachments when a seller sent a photo as an answer to a question. I see the paperclip icon inline with the message in the list - but no way to retrieve or open whatever was sent.
