Managed payments - shipping due but payments still "processing"???

The new eBay payment system just kicked in for my account a few days ago. I've since sold several items that eBay notes need to be shipped by midnight tonight (Aug. 24) - however, under the new system it shows these payments as still "processing." The items in question are both expensive and obviously I don't want to ship until the payments clear, however, it appears I'll get dinged for shipping late? 

Anyone running into this Catch-22?
