Managed Payments...

We are trying to figure out why eBay is asking (or Adyen, actually) for our username and login information for our bank account.  When we initially signed up to try managed payments back in 2018, we did not have to do this.  Managed payments turned out to be **bleep**, so we opted out.  Now that everyone is being required to use this ignorant system, we will have no choice.  However, it does not sit well with us that they will have that information. 

Does anyone know why they are doing this??  Is it even legal for them to request that information??  All of the sellers here on eBay need to band together and fight eBay on this one.  They have gotten so big that they feel they can just walk all over people with no consequences.  That information is ripe for being lost to a hack, then everyone's bank accounts will be drained within hours.  Help us figure out why they are attempting to do this and what we as sellers can do to fight it.
