Listings over 50 per month?

Is there an easy way to tell how many listings I have made in a calendar month, so I don't hit the 50 listing limit?  Do listings count toward the limit if they sell?  I thought there was a "warning" when you near the limit.  My reason for asking:  while listing this morning I was charged a listing fee on my next item.  Thanks for any help!!
