Left Feedback For Seller And It Disappeared

I had an incident where I bought a Morgan Silver dollar and the seller did a bait and switch- sent me a different coin other than what I bid and won.

The seller never responded to my messages and eBay had to eventually step in to complete the refund.

I left neutral earlier this past week and when I was reading the sellers other feedback today I noticed my neutral feedback is not there. Not only not there, but I no longer have the option to leave feedback since I have already left it.

Does eBay allow the removing of Feedback at the seller request? This is shady because how is the buyer to trust the feedback process, if it is manipulated (if it is at all?)

Not simply at “seller request,” no.

But if the feedback violates the feedback policy, then yes, eBay can remove it at the seller’s request.

Did you mention the case?   That feedback rules prohibit "Any references to investigations"   https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/feedback-policies/feedback-misuse-policy?id=5030 which as eBay applies it seems to prohibit any reference to having opened a case and they remove feedback for that.

eBay removed my feedback because the seller refunded my money. At least that is what they told me in a chat. I have the complete chat in my email to prove what I say. They literally were going to let me leave feedback only if it was positive. WT? The experience was not positive. The seller used a stock photo of a collectible coin and described it as way more than what was actually sent (bait and switch tactic.) Sellers are supposed to let buyers know if the photos are stock photos. The seller violated one of eBays policies and I still COULD NOT leave neutral feedback. But I am referring to a power seller. Apparently, power sellers have privileges.
