Hi,
On December 14th, 2017 I bought an item from an Italian seller. Although post between Italy and The Netherlands can be relatively slow sometimes based on previous orders I've made, after about 5 weeks I was pretty sure the package wouldn't arrive anymore. I contacted the seller, and opened a case for "Item not received" + "Would prefer the item above refund". The seller quickly responded and said he had another copy of what I bought, so I was very happy to hear that. He said he would send it again and give me the tracking code after he did. Although I now realize I should probably have kept it open, I closed the "Item not received" case with the option "Handled with seller", and I expected to receive a tracking code for this second package after the weekend. After five days went by I still hadn't received the tracking code, and when I asked for it, the seller said he would give it tomorrow. Now a few more days went by, and the seller also doesn't respond to any of my messages anymore, and it's also not possible to re-open the case or open a new one..
I'm pretty sure I just got scammed with nice words from the seller, and he most likely didn't even send that first package! I now also doubt he had a second copy, since it's not a particularly easy item to find (although it is an item made in Italy, so it's certainly plausible).
Could anyone give me any advice? I guess I just lost both my item and money in this case?.. 😞
What could I have done differently? Should I have kept the case open until after I received the tracking, even though eBay only allows it to be open for a couple of days before letting eBay's resolution center step in..
Thanks in advance for the responses.
Greetings,
Kevin
