I want to exclude a certain "country of origin" from ~~~ALL~~~ searches.
I collect production movie knives. This sector is saturated with a certain country's inferior junk, products that are total patent infringements, ( FAKES ), & this countries' vendors rarely fulfill orders or rarely send out what was pictured in the listing, constant "bait & switch". This is from painful, expensive, 1st hand experience, And has occurred AGAIN for a third & LAST order in a row. I have found with virtually every purchase from this certain country that I have made, that there is ZERO accountability, quality control, completely sub-standard packaging, Etc.
And returns ?? FORGET IT !!!
The cost of return shipping to this certain country is always more than the entire purchase price to begin with.
I know about the option to choose "North america" or "international".... Neither of these options will work. I still want to search world-wide, but do not want to wade through the literally hundreds junk listings from this certain country that I don't want to waste time looking at - nor will ever purchase from again.
I have tried using the MINUS symbol in front of the country's name but that does not work either !!! If the country of origin is not in the description on the listing ( IT NEVER IS ) then the MINUS in the search query doesn't work.
Any ideas ??
Thanks

There is no universal "country of origin" filter. Some sellers may include a "country of origin" item-specific, but it is not a requirement and eBay does not verify information provided by sellers even if it does appear.
If large numbers of buyers use that item-specific or the "item location" to filter out certain countries, you can be sure that some sellers selling items from those countries will not include that information in their listings if they think it will affect their sales, or will ship the item elsewhere to sell, or may even mislead about actual item locations.
The cost of return shipping to this certain country is always more than the entire purchase price to begin with.
If an item is not as described, the seller is responsible for paying for return shipping; if the seller does not cooperate, the buyer can get a refund without a return.
Even in cases of buyer remorse, the buyer is only responsible for returning the item to the location specified in the listing. A seller cannot claim that an item is in one location, but then require a return to another location at the buyer's expense, otherwise a seller could avoid any refund by making returning the item to Mars a precondition (and there are definitely sellers that would try that if they thought they could get away with it).
Use the information that sellers do provide (or the lack of important information that should appear but that is obviously missing) in order to choose your sellers wisely and you may be able to avoid many sellers that are directly selling those inferior items or the sellers that purchase such items to sell to others.

Eburton,
Thanks for the quick & detailed response...
lol, I was afraid of that !
it's a crack - up ... literally 100's of listings...." genuine ", "authentic", "cerified", and, of course they all have 100% seller ratings !!!
Thanks for the feedback !

You are welcome. I wish I had better suggestions for you, but there really is no alternative to picking your sellers carefully, at least if you cannot find a way to specifically search only for certain, known-to-be-genuine items, that is.
literally 100's of listings...." genuine ", "authentic", "cerified", and, of course they all have 100% seller ratings
If it is only a few individual sellers listing those counterfeit items, you can exclude those sellers' items from your search results -- up to ten seller usernames can be used to exclude items using the Advanced Search page Seller section, but that will not affect other new sellers that might be buying from those excluded sellers to resell, of course.

Hey, EB
This is a weird, niche' sector.... The collectors blades from virtually all movies ( at least U.S. movies ) comes from only two manufacturers: United Cutlery & Hollywood Collectibles Group. Both are solely based in.....Taiwan.
But also:
Indiana Jones - (UC)
Rambo - (UC & HCG - both )
Predator - Master Cutlery: a subsidiary of HCG
The expendables - ( UC )
And on & on....
So when I see ANY movie knife coming from ANYWHERE but Taiwan...NO DEAL !!! LOL
All the best,
jjD
