Is Paypal Credit REALLY an option to Pay??

Dear eBay buyers AND sellers

EVERY auction and every Buy It Now in eBay contains 'methods of payment' supposedly offered by that particular seller.   Included are PAYPAL (of course) VISA, MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS, and DISCOVER.  CASH is not King at Ebay.  In every case, below those methods is a big banner advertising PAYPAL CREDIT (and how to apply for it) unless you already have a Paypal Credit account.

Is it just me?  Tell me if it is?  Am I assuming too much?  Or, would any potential buyer in eBay assume (if they possess an account in good standing with Paypal Credit)  that they COULD readily use their Paypal line of credit to purchase the item?  I would think so!  But, that is what I get for "thinking."

Paypal tells me that *certain* sellers DO NOT accept payment through Paypal Credit.  There must be a secret list somewhere. (but Paypal is not saying)   A buyer who takes time and effort to track and win an auction, must find out at CHECKOUT that his Paypal Credit account is unuseable as a means of payment.   At that time, he finds that the Paypal Credit BUTTON is grayed out.  A sinister message follows:

This scenario is beyond frustrating!  It is downright misleading.  It is dishonest advertising on the front page.  Every seller who DOES NOT ACCEPT  (or every seller WHO DOES) Paypal Credit, should be plainly indicated is some uniform manner.

If I go to my favorite shade-tree mechanic for a tune-up, and he accepts only cash, I will not be expecting to pay with plastic!  I will drop by the ATM and withdraw cash.  I will know the rules so I can play my shade-tree mechanic's game.   And, it is doubtful that a mechanic who takes only CASH will have a big bold MasterCard sign over his garage door!   It's all common sense and knowing the rules, to be able to play the game.

Ebay and Paypal SHOULD BE policed to exclude that big Paypal Credit banner from any seller's auction that DOES NOT except that form of payment.  The info should be plainly discernible to one and all.  No more deception.  No more deceit.  No more guessing games !   Is there not such a thing as TRUTH IN ADVERTISING?
