If I cancel an order, will he get a refund?

So I typed in the wrong email for my paypal, and I want to change itto the right email and, what do I do?
I of course don't want to charge my buyer twice, so if I cancel the original order, will he get an automatic refund? Or has he not been charged yet since i didnt ship the item yet?
And if theres another way to do this besides canceling and relisting, please tell.
