I keep getting told my listing is 'missing' information...

Hi. I am trying to list my vehicle and it keeps saying I am missing information. When I click on 'details', it takes me to the VIN #. I have checked it 3 times and even re-entered it. Still nothing. Has anyone else come across this issue?

Thank you...

@8isenuf   Make sure that there are not any commas in your vin or the mileage.  Another seller I helped recently had a comma in their mileage which is what caused the problem with the VIN field.   Since we can't see listings from this chat I only found out after he called customer service and he had them take a look at the listing.

Check these tips and if they do not help then you'll need to call customer service.  The eBay Motors Vehicle Agents are one of the few departments that have a phone number you can call.    Their contact info is 866-322-9227 7AM-6PM M-F MST

Is your vehicle pre-1980, not originally made for street use, or manufactured outside of North America?

If so, it may have a "non-standard" VIN - See #2 below

1) If your VIN is rejected, it may be because:

- There was a typo in the info you entered. For example, a zero (0) may look like the uppercase letter "O" so double-check your entry
- You left out a number or letter. A VIN has 17 characters so make sure it’s complete.
- The vehicle’s model year is older than 1981, which doesn’t have a standard VIN
- The vehicle was made outside the US and wasn’t intended for use in the US
- The vehicle is a "kit car" or a limited production vehicle that doesn't have a standard VIN
- The vehicle’s title status is incorrect when you list it. For example, if the car is salvaged and you list it as something else, it may be rejected.

2) If you entered the correct VIN and it’s still rejected, follow these steps:

- In the listing form, select the vehicle’s year from the Year drop-down menu.
- Enter 17 zeros in the VIN field. Seventeen 0
- In the item description, you must enter the following information or the listing may be removed:
-- The vehicle’s actual VIN
-- The reason you listed your vehicle using all of the same number in your VIN
- AND include a clear photo of the VIN plate in the auction.

“If the VIN isn't recognized by our systems, the actual VIN MUST be included in the item description with an explanation as to why it wasn't accepted, such as:

- The vehicle was manufactured for a model year before 1980
- The vehicle was manufactured outside of North America
- The vehicle wasn't intended for street-legal use”
