Old threads are often locked after a certain period of time; it is even possible that there was an answer that may no longer be valid that was removed at some point to prevent users from getting outdated information.
If an old thread about an issue is locked, starting a new thread is the next step to getting current answers.
eBay's search does not recognize many punctuation characters, and often treats them as identical to each other. One major exception is a minus sign, which when put in front of a keyword will cause the search to exclude results with that keyword.
Other punctuation marks like periods, plus signs, asterisks and underscores (and even minus signs or dashes when used between words or at the end of a part number) are treated by search as interchangeable or equivalent to a space or even ignored entirely, even when enclosed in quotes.
That means that if you are searching for a part number or model name that contains or ends in a plus sign, search may not be able to distinguish it from the same part number without the plus sign.
Some sellers understand this, and will explicitly spell out the plus in the item title. Adding the word plus to your search may help to find results in some cases.
Many products have more than one part number. If you can find at least one valid result, you may be able to find alternative part numbers in the title or item-specifics. Searching using an alternative part number may find additional results that may be easier to distinguish between plus and non-plus versions.
If none of that helps and you are willing to share your search details, someone may be able to provide an alternative search for that item.
