I have sold some items that fit into a regular business envelope but that are not covered by the eBay standard envelope. These are usually under 2 ounces. As far as I can see, there is no way to enter tracking numbers for such items, yet eBay is projecting that I will drop down from Top Rated Seller status b/c of this missing information (despite the fact that I have received positive feedback from buyers who have received these items, indicating that they indeed received them). Is there any way -- other than paying $4 or more for Ground Advantage shipping which would give me a tracking number -- to avoid these dings for no tracking information on such items?

First class shipping is untracked. If your items do not qualify for the ebay Standard Envelope shipping, you will have to get a ding for no tracking. If you ship lots of items this way, you may want to consider opening a separate seller account to sell these items to protect your top seller status on this account, as you can only have 3% of your sales untracked.
