How do I check on eBay to see if a name is being used, how do I do a search

When you leave the discussion board, click on ADVANCED next to the big blue SEARCH box. On the left side, click BY SELLER. Enter seller's user ID you wish to use, click on SEARCH.  If you are taken to that seller ID, then it is in use, and you will have to try a different version.
