How can I get some assistance creating a customized seller report?

Okay, so I downloaded the order report from seller hub for sales.  However, it has so many useless columns, it will take up too much time cleaning it up in excel.  All I want to see is, item#,Item desc#, date sold#,city, state, gross amt, net amt, tax, fees, shipping costs.  Why is this so difficult? When I try to call customer service, the  automated system thinks I want to "report" a "seller".  I tried to phrase it several different ways.  I want help with a seller report. Ive said hub, I've said, download account reports (then it thinks I want to report a problem with my account).... I used to like doing this as a hobby, but now its all so tedious. I'm sure theres got to be a way to customize it. Can anyone direct me how to do that? Really frustrating not to be able to speak to someone that actually understands what you are saying.

The standard reports are not customizable.   I'm going to ask an expert for other options.

@shipscript  - is there a way to extract this data and build a custom report?  Thanks!

Thank you for your reply.  I finally got through to a rep. I think I got basically everything I need, but will still have to clean it up in excel.  Weirdly, the report I downloaded did not include the date of the sale.   Probably my own fault for not keeping better records on my own.  🙂 Thought it would be easy to gather what I needed without all the added stuff. Oh well, Live n learn! Thanks, again.

I prefer the financial report in the "Payments" tab of Seller Hub for accounting purposes.

None of the reports will include an item description, but the title should suffice. This report can be customized to include a full accounting year, unlike the 90 day reports found in the "Reports" tab of Seller Hub.

The report can include all transaction types (order, refund, claim, payment dispute, shipping label, transfer, hold, other fee, adjustment, purchase, payout, secondary payout, withheld tax), or you can limit the report to just orders.

Below are the names of the columns that are returned for a full report that contains all transaction types, and many will be empty. In red are the fields you requested.

  • Transaction creation date
  • Type  (order, return, payout, etc)
  • Order number
  • Legacy order ID
  • Buyer username
  • Buyer name
  • Ship to city
  • Ship to province/region/state
  • Ship to zip
  • Ship to country Net amount
  • Payout currency Payout date
  • Payout ID
  • Payout method
  • Payout status
  • Reason for hold
  • Item ID
  • Transaction ID
  • Item title
  • Custom label
  • Quantity
  • Item subtotal (gross amt)
  • Shipping and handling
  • Seller collected tax
  • eBay collected tax
  • Final Value Fee - fixed
  • Final Value Fee - variable
  • Very high "item not as described" fee
  • Below standard performance fee
  • International fee
  • Gross transaction amount
  • Transaction currency
  • Exchange rate
  • Reference ID
  • Description (of data row)

When viewing a spreadsheet in Excel, the unwanted columns can be collapsed or deleted.
