How can I consolidate multiple accounts in eBay?

It appears I have multiple accounts in eBay that I do not want to have. Some are older accounts. I realized this by just now using an older account inadvertently to make two purchases, but unfortunately this account does not have my current email address. I tried to update it but was unable to do so because that email address is already in use by another one of my accounts. How can I fix this?

You can NOT merge accounts, ever.  You could close accounts you are sure you'll never use again.

We are no longer able to merge eBay accounts.

Once an email address has been associated with an email account ... it can NOT be used with a different eBay account ... EVEN IF you close the account it is associated with.
