How Long Does It Take To Receive Refund On ebay Gift Card

Just asking those who may have had this experience....

Purchased an item over 3 weeks ago and I paid for almost the full amount using two ebay gift cards which I do alot to help keep my credit card balance low.

Well the seller never sent the item despite my attempts to work with them directly so I phoned ebay, and they instructed me to cancel the  transaction.

Immediately I saw in my paypal account it said that I received the refund. 

It says :

Refunded to:  $XX.XX Gift card

Discover$X.XX VISA Credit Card

The CSR I spoke to also said the gift card amount would be refunded back as a "gift card" balance.

However I cannot find the refund listed anywhere here on ebay.  Fortunately I  found the two  ebay gift cards that I used but when I check the balance on them  using the gift card balance checker it says  $0.00. 

Also, as I read here, I tried checking the balance at checkout and again, it says these cards have no balance.

Does it take several days to reload the refund on the cards? Or should I call CS  again?
