HELP ?
I bought a ps vita with BUY IT NOW option and I paid for it immediately on Sat Nov 28th.
I had $94 of $170 taken directly from my PayPal balance and the remaining from my PayPal checking option.
The sale was 5pm Sat Nov 28th. Seller waited to ship until Dec 3rd. He has 3 business days on his account. I reached out to him Mon night asking about estimated shipping time ? Meaning WHEN ARE YOU SHIPPING IT ? Seller had made no communication attempt prior to aprise me of a courtesy Thank you and I'll be shipping blah blah. In fact he took almost 24hrs to answer me and I found the seller to be very arrogant. Instead he came back with but ebay hasn't told me to ship it yet ? I'm on ebay since 2008 and have never heard of such a thing. I would think the only time ebay would tell you that is your a dead beat and slacking ?
I don't know am I wrong ?
So he made a label on Wed Dec 3rd (again sale Sat Nov 28th) and yet didn't drop off until Thurs the 4th. Now USPS hasn't updated tracking since Dec 4th drop off and his NY regional processor same day about 5hrs later.
Here it's Dec 9th and almost close of day and as 10th is coming quickly. So it's been as of tomorrow the 10th 6 days in limbo. ( 7 days ship )
Oh and then surfing for info and options the dead beat only left the courtesy $50 insurance and didn't pay extra to insure for the full $150 ? So if it is lost now I'm screwed ?? (As many sellers think buyer has to put insurance claim in so IM SCREWED )
I'm in Coastal NC and item has left from Brooklyn, NY.
We are talking about same coast and only 5 states away approx 650 miles taking only 9 hrs by drive ? (Straight thru) So ....
Where's this package ?
What are my options and how would you handle this ?
I had a sale myself on Mon night and had PKG out yesterday and within 24hrs of my 3 days listed on my account handling time and recently I've been added to managed payments.
I know many have issues with managed payments and wait out 3 days of money to clear so that's another issue? What is proper time and etiquette of payment vs Shipping ? (I'm new and on my FB group as they all ripped me apart for acting like a newbee as I had no idea ! Sorry I was dealing and STILL ARE with home damage from Hurricane Florence and I was on evacuation when ebay announced managed Payments. So I can assure you I so wasn't thinking or giving a ??? about ebay at the time !! )
Please help I've never had this situation or ??? attitude from a seller before ??
I'm 52 and he's probably a kid or about 30 something if his ebay name says anything truthful to life ?
Thank you for any help and any advice you can offer ?
For those with nasty comments please keep scrolling as I'm in no mood and may go NY postal on you after my stress of kids being home from School for 10mos and I'm so sick of covid and all the excuses that come with it lol

The seller can't ship until the funds from your checking account clears, which could take a few days.
That is why Ebay hasn't told them to ship yet.
@2ndhandtreasures The seller should have shipped on the 3rd, so they were a day late shipping if they didn't ship till the 4th with a 3 day handling time so they will get a ding on their shipping metrics.
Could he have gotten the package out the door faster, yes.
Shipping after it leaves the seller's hands is unfortunately VERY slow right now. I know you don't want the Covid excuse but because more people than ever are shopping from home the postal services are swamped.
Post offices are not scanning packages as much as they used to, I think that this is to try and speed up processing.
Up until this last week I only had one late package since this mess started. Now I have 4 and I am sure there will be more.
Insurance is for the seller. You are covered by the ebay MBG if the item is lost or damaged in shipping.

It's difficult to know how to answer all the questions you've asked. I'm just going to give you some 'factual opinions' ... some of which I hope you find useful. [They're not in any logical order.]

UPDATE: I read @kensgiftshop answer after posting. I didn't catch that you paid partially with a checking account. [My bad.] It can take several days for a check to clear ... so the seller was in no way late in shipping! [I would add an apology to the seller to my list of what I would do.]
