HTML content in listings

How can I prevent HTML content from appearing in my listings when they are renewed each month?  

How can I remove HTML content by batch editing?

Periodically I get a message from eBay that my listings have HTML content. Usually sales are down at time of receiving this note.  So I click on a link "help me remove it" which allows me to remove content.  This is a slow process bc each listing must be edited individually.  After doing this my sales go up until a month or so later when I get another notice and must repeat this process.  So I hope someone can tell me how to prevent the system from adding HTML content and how to remove this content through batch edit function. Thanks.
