Global Shipping Program using FedEx

I am trying to find out if items shipped using FedEx through the Global Shipping Program are handled any differently than the ones shipped via USPS?

In the past, I have always used USPS when shipping items and two tracking numbers are created. A domestic one for the US shipping and a Global one where the tracking number starts with UPAA.

This time, because the shipping cost was cheaper, I used FedEx to ship the item through KY. For the package, I only see one tracking number, as well as, the item shows as delivered in KY with a status of "Delivered to Processing Hub for international delivery" but it doesn't not show the tracking information as the item moves internationally to it's final destination.

Any help on this would be appreciated.
