First Class Mail with No tracking number given

Hello, I need some advice. I buy and sell on eBay. Today, I shipped out a First Class envelope to a buyer. When I arrived home and began uploading tracking numbers I discovered that the USPS did not assign a tracking number to the First Class envelope.

This poses two problems for me, one; I can't give my buyer a tracking number and two; I will get a "strike" from eBay for "not uploading a tracking number on time" If the post office doesn't give me a tracking number then I can't upload one. This was a $10 sale with free shipping, the envelope weight was only 1.8 ounces. 

Do I need to call eBay? Does eBay have an email contact available? I can only find the phone number.
