I purchased an item listed as a 2 TB USB Flash Drive / Memory Stick ( https://www.ebay.com/itm/223579328402 ) on August 1st which was delivered August 9th. I became aware only within the last few days (when I actually had a chance to test the item) that the storage capacity of the item was in fact only about 8 GB, but had been fraudulently programmed to appear to be 2TB. So if you try to use the drive, it the copy process appears to proceed as normal, but anything copied to it after the 8 GB or so capacity is reached is lost (as well as some files already on the drive getting corrupted). This is fraud and a scam. The seller actually claims the capacity is 2 TB. The seller has already sold 900 (NINE HUNDRED!) of these things. They are best useless, but also harmful as people lose time, money, and possibly data on this fraudulent almost worthless device. After my purchase, I have read on line numerous accounts of this fraud (first reported several years ago).
Is there recourse now? I wanted lodge a complaint for a refund (and possibly leave negative feedback), but only now realize the deadline is not 60 days from delivery, but 60 days from purchase. So it appears I can't do anything, not even leave negative feedback. At the very least, this seller should be stopped from selling this item.
I am annoyed enough to think about repurchasing the item with the express purpose of opening a case and filing a complaint, and also encouraging my friends to do the same (but with my luck eBay would have a policy against me doing that and punish me instead of the seller).
