Entering newly required details failed at confirming existing identity - "Something went wrong"

I received the "Update your account details by February 28, 2021 to continue creating new listings. It’s that simple" eMail. Went to the link, confirmed my existing info, got the  "Something went wrong" message, in any browser. 

Called eBay help, they said they fixed the problem. Still failed, for days. 

Just tried editing each bit of my data...  I've always had my street address listed for people who ship by UPS/FedEx, and a second PO Box address for people who insist on using USPS - they don't deliver here. Once I edited that bit, the system suggested swapping the PO Box into first position - still failed. 

So I tried deleting the PO Box completely, and it worked! Went right on to the bank pages. 

My address is often a problem online, but it seems strange eBay couldn't accept the one I've used for years, nor the one they explicitly recommended.
