Dymo 4xl Shipping label size problems

I am having issues with my Dymo 4xl. it is not printing full size on ebay but if i print from the dymo app no problems at all, is there a way to practice printing labels thru ebay without purchasing a label, I have wasted so many labels trying to get this set up right and cannot do it. First my label was too small, now it is not printing the bar code, voided some labels and now it only prints a 1"x3" section of the label. Please help
