What is a collection code? I can’t mark an item as collected because it’s wants a collection code.

That code is given to your buyer to give to you when they pick up the item.  Without the code eBay has no proof that the buyer received the item and cannot release your payout.  When the buyer gives you the code you enter it into your eBay app and then eBay knows the buyer picked up the item.
