Can't delete Saved Search items

Since I have recently obtained some items that are on my Saved Searches list, I wanted to delete them. I moved the cursor over near the item title and it brought up the "Delete" option. I clicked on it, it asked if I was sure and I click yes and it vanished. Then I go to another page to look at something, and when I return to Saved Searches, the deleted item is back again. The same thing happens if I select "Unsubscribe" from notices about an item. It confirms it and lists it as "Unsubscribed," but when I leave and then return to the page, it once again says I'm subscribed to notices about that item. What is the issue and how do I remove something from my Saved Searches that I no longer need?
