Can't Filter search results using the "see all" option

I do a search, and in the search criteria column I click on a "see all" link to bring up search criteria available (let's say brand of sneaker). The box comes up and I click the boxes for, say, "addidas", "puma" and "converse" - and then...what? There is no obvious way to actually apply the criteria - no APPLY button, no BACK button, closing the selection box with the 'X' loses the selections made, clicking beside the box (on the actual search site page) does nothing. **bleep**!!!

In the short term - somebody please tell me what I'm doing wrong - I must be missing something.

In the bigger picture - as an experienced eBay buyer and seller, I cannot believe eBay can't figure out a more intuitive system.
