July 13, 2018: Why did this happen? For an item listed as buyer pays actual, calculated shipping, eBay shipping label charged 82 cents more than actual seller cost for shipping. Here are facts:
- Listing required buyer to pay for calculated shipping costs.
- Package wt. and measurements were entered into eBay Shipping Calculator at time listing was created.
- Seller offered 2 USPS options: parcel select and 1st class. Listing description stated seller will ship by cheapest method of those offered.
- USPS shipping costs from 92672 to 82007 were $3.82 for 1st Class vs. more than $6 for Parcel Select.
- Buyer selected Parcel Select. eBay charged buyer $3.00.
- Seller shipped via 1st Class for $3.82 and printed the shipping label through eBay's system.
