I recently saw that Amazon is selling pallets of 'returned' goods = disliked or broken. I bought something from a seller who I believe is buying these goods and reselling them on ebay even though they are broken. (All the packaging said Amazon)
Over the years I've had very good experiences as a buyer on ebay. Now I'm thinking about giving up using ebay because I have no way of knowing if what I am buying is a broken Amazon return. I admit that the seller would return my money if I returned the clearly broken and useless item. But it seems unfair that I should have to use my time and energy when the seller is knowingly selling garbage.

Yes eBay is full of Amazon returns.
You have to be aware of this and look closely at a seller and his item.
Not all of Amazon returns are broken just unwanted.

You can avoid a lot of potential headaches by choosing only to do business with sellers that have a track record of delivering what they advertise, and avoiding sellers that lack a track record or that have a pattern of negative feedback indicating a problem in that regard.

Hi @m2do
I'm very sorry this happened. If you do a thorough search of eBay listings ... you likely will be able to fine 'a seller' doing just about every thing you don't want a seller to do.
Fortunately, there are millions of other sellers who are selling items in the right way.
As you said ... you are always able to get refunded if the item you receive is 'not as described' in any way.

Thank you for your response, eburtonlab. What you say is true True. I noticed that the seller had only been on ebay about a week. I will pay more attention in the future.

I appreciate your response, rock.star. I had no idea until today that Amazon sells bulk returns to the general public. I've clearly been living under a rock. Are these resales considered 'new'?

Thank you, house*of* paws, for your reply. I should have seen the newness of the seller as a red flag.
It's the first time I've run into this with ebay. With past problems sellers always tried to make things right. Generally they have been careful to go above and beyond their description. I would be left with a good feeling at the end.
I think this seller was counting on my not returning the item. My time and gas are worth something, so I cut my losses and tossed it in the trash. I did not leave a good review.
Yes, there are many good people out there. I'll just be more careful next time.
