So, I've raised this question with a friend, and we have differing opinions, so I wanted to get some feedback from my fellow merchandisers:
Is it bad form to immediately relist an item you won in auction for a higher price, or is it all part and parcel for buyers and sellers? One of us says it's bad form, while the other says if someone hasn't done the research you have, and doesn't pay attention to the market, all bets are off, and if you double or even triple your money, good on ya.
Opinions?

I do it all the time.
Buy cheap, then list for a higher price.
I re-sell the items on a different account.
No, it isn't bad form at all, it's a normal thing to do if you want to try and make a profit.
Some people are pathetic though and wouldn't want you to make a profit on what they sold you.
I sold an item to a buyer, and he re-sold it and made a very nice profit. I was happy for him. No need for me to be annoyed because I got the price I wanted from the buyer.

I haven't noticed it yet, but maybe that's when they finally made the fix...this morning when the forums were shut down for maintenance about 7:00 right coast time.

I would try to stay under the radar and wait a little bit, a month or more. You have nothing else you could sell right now?

Yes I've noticed.
And I've also noticed my pc now works on the boards.
I've been using my tablet for the last 3 weeks because my pc was very slow loading the pages.

Wait for item. It could actually end up being better than expected! Relist. Use SAME account, unless that's the thing some might think is the "bad form" in all this.
Yeah. Making the $$$ isn't bad, bad, bad. It's using the SAME account to do so that is.

Yeah. Making the $$$ isn't bad, bad, bad. It's using the SAME account to do so that is.
It could also be worse than expected. Or the seller might decide not to ship. I'd never list an item before inspecting, cleaning, photographing, etc.
And since I have separate accounts for buying and selling, I'd obviously not relist it on the same account.
99% of the stuff I sell here is bought here. IMO, there's nothing morally or ethically wrong with it, so if someone else wants to think it's "bad form", I'll just disagree and continue making money.

It would be bad form, though, to use the previous seller's photos and description. You bought the product, not the seller's work listing it. Anyway, the previous seller's work resulted in the item selling for less than you think it should have, so why copy it? 🙂

It would also be a copyright violation. Much worse than "bad form".

Oh, no, I never use the same photos when I'm forced into relisting the item (doesn't happen often at all). All descriptions and photos I post are mine. 🙂

I don't think it is a bad thing to do. I agree if it was priced too low and you bought it, why not resell it? I see nothing wrong with doing this.

Again, I'm sorry I wasn't clear, but I'd never list an item I didn't physically have in my possession. This is about relisting an item I just purchased on the cheap for a higher amount of money. 🙂
