Unable to log in on blackview BL8800 Pro

Hello,

I just bought a Blackview BL8800 Pro phone to substitute my old Sony Xperia XZ Premium.

On my pc and on old XZ Premium I access to ebay app without any problem, also logging off and relogging in.

On my Blackview phone, instead I get an "invalid request" error after typing in password and pressing login button. I also tried changing password but it sorted no effect.

On this phone I have installed more than 100 apps and all of them run smoothly, ebay app is the only one that gives me trouble.

Can you please help?
Thanks and regards

Hi dear friend,

I got your answer and similar ones over this forum. Tried all of them and they fell short, no effect. Clearly the point was somewhere else....

*NOW* I understood what was going on, this subtle app *CHECKS* if you have rooted your device and, if the answer is yes, then stops authenticating!!! (also, without any notice but a generic "invalid request" instead of a truthful "cannot log in rooted devices", in order to create more confusion in the user)

So the error had nothing to do with google infrastructure (google, play services, play store apps), also because I was trying to login with my ebay profile and NOT with a google profile.

My advice for anyone who has rooted his phone (it's his SACRED right to do it!!!) is to browse the internet and search for effective techniques to "mask android rooting from banking apps". The solution is the same and JUST WORKS.

NOW, let's say this: why in the world is ebay app putting a control over the rooted state of people's devices? Similar companies aren't and this is not a banking app, so fraud (considering that almost any payment today is 2FA-authenticated) is less than likely. This is a clear abuse over consumer rights! And the very reason is also "masked" with a generic error, very unfair!!!

Very, very bad, Mr. Ebay!

What version number of the eBay app are you using?

If your new phone has an old version of Google Play Services or Google Play Store that can prevent getting the latest version of the eBay app, and that can cause odd errors.
