I'm afraid that people will be put off seeing that 'active offer' label
on my item thinking they will have a bidding war. Why does it say that?

I just listed a bag chain/charm I made using coach hangtags on a chain
and it was removed for being counterfeit. I purchased the hangtags from
a seller on eBay WeLoveOurBags and were guaranteed they were not
counterfeit. So why was my item removed?
