I returned a package by signed for Royal Mail. When I checked the delivery status online the message said that Royal Mail had tried to deliver but the company is no longer at the addresss so my package had been returned to the local delivery office, then on to the National Undelivered Mail Centre. I have contacted the seller and they are still at that address. I explained that it may be sometime before the package is returned to me (if ever) and I will miss the Ebay returns deadline.
I called the Royal Mail helpline and waited 30 mins to speak to someone. He set up a search process at the above centre.
Does anyone know how long I must wait before I can claim compensation ? Obviously the seller wont refund me without the goods but the goods are still in Royal Mail possession just undelivered !
So it is a bit of a Catch 22 situation.
