Had 7 bidders on my iPhone. Listing ended. The buyer paid via PayPal. He had 100% positive feedback. PayPal held money since I was a new seller. To get money quicker paypal said ship item and give tracking number. Ok done. Shipped item out, shipped at 10am. 430pm. eBay emails me and says that the account that purchased my item was unauthorized. Great! So I hurried up and did a USPS intercept. So far it made it to the desination facility. Ugh. If it ends up getting delivered. Will the USPS insurance I bought cover this? I’m hoping the intercept works and it gets mailed back to me.

Same day? I would have called the PO where it was dropped off immediately after filing the intercept. They might have been able to pull the package if it hadn't gone out on the truck yet.

I called eBay. They told me to refund the payment. Which I did because it was most likely fraudulent. So I no longer that the $330
Why was the OP told to refund the payment when they had already shipped? brian@ebay
That tag won't go through. I keep getting a spinning circle if I try to tag someone.
Hi @Anonymous, based on the information in this thread, I'm not sure that suggesting a refund was the correct advice. I'll be sure to have the call listened to so coaching can be provided.
@ohiobids75, I don't see that an iPhone has been sold on your account so I'm not able to view any details about this transaction. I'll send you en email shortly so I can more details from you, such as the user ID the iPhone was sold on.

ebay removed the listing.
@ohiobids75, oh that makes total sense! I see the listing now. In situations like this eBay will not step in to issue any kind of refund to the account owner of the buying account. However, the typical end result is that the buyer will file for a chargeback since their account was used by an unauthorized person. While issuing a voluntary refund is a better experience for the account owner of the buying account, this is your choice to do and isn't something we would require or ask of a seller. I'll have the call listened to and make sure proper coaching is given. I hope you are able to get the iPhone back from USPS!

Due to the buyer being improperly vetted at the time of registration and ebay CS telling seller to go ahead and issue a refund I would think ebay should take the high road and refund their customer providing them with a better ebay experience...
