Puerto Rico

I have an order for a shipment to Puerto Rico.  It looks like a PO Box.  Can I cancel it right away or will I be penalized?

In the future you can exclude Alaska, Hawaii and US Protectorates from your listings but if you did not, you don't have a good reason to cancel.  My listings all include the following: "In all cases we will need your eBay account address to contain a  physical street address.  That can be in addition to a Post Office Box.  If you purchase without a street address we may need to cancel the order then have you repurchase after you change your address with eBay.  The quoted shipping price is for the Continental US only. For Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico or protectorates contact us to determine if an additional charge will be needed BEFORE you complete the purchase."

1 - You can't charge a buyer more than what you state in the listing

2 - Shipping from your location in Texas to Puerto Rico is exactly the same as shipping to Seattle (Both zone 8).

3 - If you ship via USPS there is absolutely no reason for a buyer to provide a Street Address if they have a PO Box.

4 - You blurb is unnecessary, accomplishes nothing more than confusing and/or alienating potential buyers.

Post Office boxes are the safest to ship to. Anyone can give you a fake physical address. The USPS is required to obtain specific information to allow use of a PO Box. High valued collectibles go to PO Boxes all the time. It offers the most protection for a seller. Defrauding the USPS would be a big mistake. We believe you are lsoing out on sales. Well to do folks use PO Boxes.

A PO Box in Puerto Rico is preferred for shipping.  They use an urbanization form of street address that is complicated and can be problematic.

You mean like the one I had for "the blue house behind the market"?

As others have pointed out, Puerto Rico is part of the USA, like Guam, etc., so if you're shipping with USPS, there is zero difference when mailing to them.  I've found that my orders to these locations are often delivered faster than to the contiguous 48 states!

Unless you are shipping UPS, let it ride.  The majority of the island has a po box .  They don't even have street addresses in some of those towns.  Ship the item, that could be one of my cousins.....
