Do I understand correctly? If I start a buy it now item at $200 and later reduce it to $100, do I have to pay the fee on the original $200?

@jttrain No, your final value fees are based on your actual selling price. In your example, if you ended up selling the item for $50, your fees would be based off the $50. Fees are also a total of the item amount, plus shipping and taxes, plus there is a .30 cent listing charge that's not refundable. Hope that helps you out. Best of luck to you....

No. The final value fee is based on what the buyer actually pays for the item, shipping, and sales tax (if any).

NO, you can reduce the cost all the way to $10 if you want. You pay approximately 15% of the sale which is charged by total cost counting shipping in fees and state tax. The only time you pay MORE is if you do a reserve at auction and that is the biggest waste of money on Ebay.

Hi: I read the "selling fees" section but can't tell if there is an extra fee if you have a Buy It Now option on an auction. So, if I understand right, there is no fee for a Buy It Now style listing -- it's the same as a Fixed Price listing where you only pay the final value fee plus .30? But if you have an auction listing with a Buy It Now option too, is there an extra fee for adding on the Buy It Now option? Thank you!

There is a fee for adding a "Buy it now" price on an auction IF you have a Store subscription.

As others have said your final value fees are based on the total amount the buyer pays.
However, if you have a reserve price on an auction, the reserve fee is based on the original reserve price. If you lower the reserve, the reserve fee does not go down. The fee is charged whether or not the item sells. It's best to avoid using a reserve and to start your auction at the lowest you are willing to accept.

It makes no difference what price you start an item out at. Your FVF is based on the total amount the buyer pays you, the seller.
