EBay ‘Seriously Considering’ Adding Bitcoin Payments
That's the headline. Why now, I wonder.

this is not possible, because the ebay will not be able to stop payment if the seller is dishonest. Bitcoin transactions are irreversible

It is automatic free advertising in the Bitcoin community as one more ecommerce site that will accept BTC. It is more revenue from those who want to spend BTC without converting to dollars.

If BTC were allowed here, I would imagine that Ebay would bill any disputes to the seller's account. That's the only thing I could see happening. I can't see Ebay ditching the MBG, even partially to allow for BTC to be used.

A USPS MO I can take to the PO and get cash in my hand. A BTC I get...some pixels and a promise?

To hopefully boost up the stock price, the big O is up around 200% or so since adding BitCoin.

eBay has been talking about accepting bitcoin for years now. Here's one from 2014:

Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmm (or maybe uh-huh, sure they will)
news is that bitcoin has lost 25% of it's value.......

I saw something earlier about a 30% drop with no bottom in sight.
I can't see this being allowed at all in any marketplace unless and until it is fully trackable and reverseable at every step.
