I've been getting a lot of crappy offers on items. It's a free country obviously and I dont want to infringe on peoples freedom to probe with 20% offers and send messages about their budgets and medical issues. If I was the ebay god I would allow only 3 offers and not 5. anybody with me? Yes i know you can have auto decline on listings. srsly am i the only on getting tired of this crap. It seems to me that it will 100% get much much much worse with AI software. I mean can I make 1,000,000 5% offers on 8000 listings? is that possible? if so than we are screwed (with being annoyed).

I got rid of the Best Offer option on my listings because I was tired of dealing with people offering pennies for items.
I never used the Auto Decline option, instead just Declined and blocked the buyer if they made ridiculously low offers

Offers aren't AI generated - it's just a setting that any seller can enable or disable that automates offers and has been around for a while - no AI needed for a simple toggle function. I have mine disabled as I agree that the amount of offers being dumped into one's message system is annoying.
This is distinct from having 'best offer' on listings - I don't use best offer on anything but do have the option of sending offers to watchers, which I do selectively (and not with a 5% discount lol).

Just add the people who send insulting offers and waste your time to your blocked buyers list and you will never hear from them again.

Yes, there's no AI involvement with making offers; it's just whatever the (cheapskate) buyer wants to offer. It is possible to automate the process via scripting so that you can have a bot issue automatic offers to sellers, making the offer to be some percentage of the original asking price, but again it's not an AI matter, just a simple coding script.
Definitely set your low limit to be whatever you might want to consider as an offer, and then all those below that will be blocked and never have to bother you.

Here's my advice to you. I would get rid the option for your buyers to make an offer on ALL of your items and LOWER the prices of ALL your items to the absolute lowest price you are willing to accept.
If you lower your prices enough your sales will go up.

I don't have 'best offer' on my items.
But I got 3 yesterday when buyer(s) asked if I would take a cheaper price.
And they do show as 'best offer'...for me to clink and enter a price.
So I figure why even do those best offers when they come through anyway.
