Seems like eBay is in process of banning Qanon, stop the steal, and election related items that promote the 'big lie'. I've seen some stuff in the media about this but no official notice of the update here. Wonder how they will explain this and when.

Yes, it seems eBay has not made their policy clear. I believe violence at the Capitol was motivated by baseless claims regarding the 2020 election. Facts disagree with these slogans. Promoting lies, stokes anger and promotes violence. That's reality.

If this is true it would likely happen soon.
There is no need for eBay to explain
eBay would have no reason to explain anything, it's either clearly obvious or no explanation they could give would be acceptable to the ones for whom an explanation would be needed.

eBay wont explain. It is their site and they can choose to allow certain items or not AND change their minds at the drop of a hat IF they want

If it's true, then I'd say it's the right decision by eBay's Corporate Board. And, it's possible, just maybe, they do care about things other than their ungodly bonuses.
Now, if only, Corporate America would band together and refuse for their products ads to be shown amid so called News networks, like Fox news and those likened, the ones who could care less about anything other than their own self-enrichment, the ones who blatantly chip away at the foundation of our democracy by their continuous assault with damaging, flat-out lies, fearmongering propaganda and evil conspiracy theories. And might I add to the above, it does appear to me that even religious set push fearmongering propaganda and conspiracy theories, in which I find to be very disheartening.
In closing: good on eBay, if what you are citing is factual.

Imprinting the imagination: in the pictures below, one picture represents truth and loyalty to the mass/people. And the other picture respresents lies, conspiracies and loyalty to a/an lunatic/individual. And, if one is given a choice to select only one of the images to stand with, which one would you select?
If the original op's post is factual, then eBay has chosen only one of the images, and that image should be obvious. Imprinting the imagination and; which one would you select? It really is that simple. So, I hope the op's post is factual, for I know the image that I have chosen, thus I stand with eBay if the cited info is factual; how about you, which image will you stand with?

Just a little help here, recognizing the above images, in one image there are many reflections from the hardened steel of democracy and it shines brilliantly.
And, in the other image there are empty, devilish echoes from a hollow horn of anarchy; covered with layers of misery.

You are comparing a photo of an actor from a movie (pure fiction) and a photo of a real person from the actual news? And you are suggesting that the photo of the real person be censored? That's just crazy.

Let's not forget to ban anything from the civil war too. Nasty and icky as is was.

I'm not a big fan of someone else telling me what is or isn't offensive.
I vote with my dollar. If i find it offensive, i wont buy it.
But i do understand this is a private website and it's ebay's decision. I will abide by it or leave.

Actually, I'd prefer to be able to see both pictures, thank you. Doesn't mean that I agree with either one. I can make up my own mind about what they represent. What if both photos represent violence and a revenge-oriented mindset to me? Even then, I'll take stone cold reality over saccharine Hollywood fantasy any day of the week.

Ahh just ban everything as some thing will offend some one....

Yes! That's already covered in eBay's Offensive Material Policy which explicitly bans slavery related items, Confederate flags and their image and demeaning racist stereotypes of African Americans. I have faith they will do the right thing with this material. They represent the same problem.
