I have recently been offered a 10% discount called “PACKUP10” by E-bay.
I met with all the terms and conditions but my purchase based largely on the attractiveness of this offer was not credited with the discount.
On complaint to E-Bay I was informed that it was my fault. Despite typing the code in capitals it was not recognised and because I proceeded to Pay-Pal I was debited with paying the full price.
My telephone conversations of complaint did not resolve the issue nor restore my confidence.
Frustratingly I could have bought directly from the same seller at 5% below the listed price.
This and another previous problem with E-Bay’s promise of fair trading has shaken my confidence in the security of trading through this platform.
