Help with vintage Sunbeam c30ab glass "beehive" glass pot

I have a SunBeam c30ab vacuum coffee pot with a glass "beehive" glass pot on top. I can't seem to remove it, It twist back and forth about a quarter turn, but that is it. I'm afraid of breaking it. Any idea of how to remove it. Thanks
