I picked up this gas heater at a yard sale. I believe it's from the 1800's. I've done the best I can to take photos of the maker info, but I still can't make out the name. Does anybody recognize the name? (I can add a photo of the entire unit, if necessary.)
This is a beautiful well detailed oil painting on canvas board. I am having a hard time deciphering the signature. Does anyone have any idea's or suggestions? Thanks in advance.
could anyone translate the printed Asian characteres on this black & white postcard.
i think it might help to determine the country/scene depicted...
thanks for any info...
Please Help-I found this great piece of pottery but there are no marks on it. Has anyone ever seen anything like it?
I know next to nothing when it comes to antique or vintage photographs. Is there someone here who can enlighten me?
My husband and I picked-up two large (approx 30 x 25 in.) vintage Mid-Century (1940s - 1960s) photographs over the weekend. After a bit of digging, I was able to ID both locations where the photos were taken, but not the photographer/artist.
My question/s: are large photographs such as these normal/common? Also, the one thing I find weird is....the only vintage photographs of this particular location that I've been able to find so far are the ones we have. There appears to no other antique or vintage photos out there. The name of the location is: 'Taroko Gorge'. Does anyone know why this could be? No antique or vintage photos of this particular location?
Below is an image of one of the photos we have. If I'm not mistaken, it's called a gelatin silver print(?). The reverse of the photo is inscribed in ink as shown.
Thank you all so much for your time, replies and thoughts.
