Can somebody enlighten me? It is aluminum, 9" x 13" and has a black handle. It looks like a paint pan but it is used for cooking but what? There is no makers name.

It looks like the coal shovel for a barbeque to spread the hot coals around the bottom of the grill.

Yea, but it has a large lip all away around. It would just shove the coals not scoop them. I'm over 60 and I have never come across one. I've gone to thrift stores, garage sales and auctions for 40 years.

because of the postion of the finger grip on the handle this picture would indicate that we are looking at the bottom ..

I've been searching on this for a while near as I can tell its a drip pan to catch grease and part of something else not sure what, I know does not help much but it gives another line of thought...
