ebay unfair to sellers

why does ebay have such distain for its sellers. Up untill 4 weeks ago I was a top rated seller with 100% feedback (1150 transactions) then I made the mistake of selling to low rated buyers (little or now feedback), at which point I recieved 2 neutral and 1 neg feedback, one was for dust in the bottom of a vase, second was not as described shoe size, when detailed measurements were provided, and my favorite was not shipping to a non verified address, all resulted in my calling customer (non) support, at which time I was denied any resolution, now as a result my seller rating was lowered and my funds are pending on paypal. So I removed all of my listings, canceled my current active auctions and will be moving on, I am sorry I wasted 4 years of my time thinking ebay was great, when it is a terrible environment for sellers, and the people who make policy should be terminated. Just type ebay unfair to its sellers in Google and look at the thousands of complaints. I will be making it my mission to trash ebay on every venue possible, and I will be in good company, also paypal is a joke, 4 years of flawless transactions and they put my funds on hold?????????????????????

Re: ebay unfair to sellers

Sorry to hear your story of E-bay failure. I sold an item , Parts or Repair, stating what was broken and what did work ( an effects pedal ) . Discription was very detailed and was noted as " Sold as is " no returns.  Buyer had item for 12 days after receiving it, messaged me and said after working on it he cant fix it and wants to return it .I said no way, no response from buyer, had ebay step in--- BIG MISTAKE FOR A SELLER!!--- They decided in 5 minutes that the buyer was allowed to return it, even though he worked on it and messed it up even more. thats not the end . I asked for an appeal and ebay said that after i get it back ,you ready?, that i would need to file a POLICE REPORT FOR A FRAUDULENT SALE  then submit it to ebay!!!!  REALLY THE POLICE ???!!?? Does anyone know any other avenue to go with ebay on this?

Unfair accusation? where do you sell in the moon. eBay sucks for the sellers, they stab you with  super high fees and about always sides with the buyer, even when they try to scam you.

I sold a high price item (a set of 3 computer), I specified that they were NOT bare bone systems, they were a KIT, meaning I added 16 GB RAM and 128 SSDs plus win 10, then after 3 days the  buyer received he opened a return case and stated that it shouldn't have an OS, when I clearly put in the description that it had Win 10 pro installed alone with memories amount and SSD size, and it top of that, I also set that buyer was responsible for return costs on my listing but eBay still screwed me over with not just the refund, also with the shipping cost, when they literally didn't even bother to read the description.

I am new to eBay wasted my time posting shoes I wanted to sell and eBay sends me a final decision I am suspended and can’t buy or sell. No explanation why and I am new so completely enraged I wasted my time signing up for them to unfairly immediately say I’m suspended

Re: ebay unfair to sellers

Sadly I feel your pain. I've had 100% feedback for many years and have worked hard to keep it that way. However I noticed today that a buyer had left neutral feedback over a 'mark' on an item of clothing that @i'd sold her. Unfortunately this was the first that I'd heard about it but rather than contact me and try to sort it out she decided to just post the feedback. I usually either partially or fully refund if there's a legitimate problem but obviously to know about a problem I have to be contacted by the buyer as clairvoyancy I don't do. In this case I fully refunded once I saw that there had been a problem. I contacted ebay's customer (dis)service who informed e of the new 'specialist team' regarding feedback. As they're always saying how much they ' value my loyalty' as I've been with ebay for so long I thought they'd just remove the feedback as they'd done so before. Instead I got some wishy-washy drivel and them saying that I can reply to the feedback. However sellers can't leave a buyer bad or neutral feedback but they can leave sellers bad or neutral. That's unfair for a start, getting really p'd off with ebay as they seem more than happy to sell long term sellers right down the river without a second thought. Sorry for the long reply but I'm currently spitting nails, so much so that I feel a Jack Daniels coming on. lol

Re: ebay unfair to sellers

Yes, I saw the 'sour grapes' post too and thought what a t**t. Obviously one of ebay's own sent to stir the pot instead of address the problem. So may people with such similar problems all can't be wrong.

Re: ebay unfair to sellers

We were new sellers, too, for about a week.  After all the time we spent preparing our merchandise,

listing all the details, purchasing shipping envelopes, etc., Ebay cancelled our account.  We were selling 4

new items that received offers.   Only problem was the offers ame in at the asking price.  At first we figured

it was someone who didn't understand how to make a purchase.  In between all of this we had one actual sale that was not an offer but a purchase.  That went well.  The other offers came in on new clothing.

Finally by the last offer, we realized something was strange and decided we needed to decline the offer.  Should have done that right off the top but who knew?  The scam Ebay used as an example was if the buyer asks you to sell your item for more money than you're asking.  In the meantime, two of the people kept messaging us through Ebay to contact them via their personal phone number.   We declined,  and when they persevered and we reported them to Ebay.   This all happened in the matter of hours.  The result,  our account was permanently suspended.  No explanation?  No way to get any answers.  We tried to follow

the rules and to do the right thing.  Unfortunately we still don't know what we did that was wrong?   Good luck with your new venture.  We hope you have more success that we did.

Re: ebay unfair to sellers

You could not be more correct!  This is why I no longer sell on ebay after 22 years as a seller and buyer.

I had this one 300.00 perfume new in box and sold to this woman.  She opened a case saying not as described but sent me an email saying she just did not like the way it smelled on her skin!  Ebay told me when I called that I would have seller protection and if I followed their steps including reporting the buyer, I would not have to pay her the 100.00 refund.  I did it exactly as they said for two weeks.  When I called to get the final email sent to buyer telling her that she was not getting a refund for her fraudulent case opening, I was told that the previous THREE agents were all wrong and that there is no seller protection and I had to pay her back the 100 AND pay for her return label!

The next week, I told two things and BOTH buyers never paid and never communicated!  No way to even leave appropriate feedback and no repercussions at all for the buyers.

This is sad because ebay used to be fair.  Not any longer.  If you are not a thriving store that can absorb the high cost of sending out 300.00 bottles of perfume for these a hats to try and decide if they want to keep or not, then you should not sell here.

Re: ebay unfair to sellers

Closing my account right now. I've had it with ebay disrespect for sellers. I don't sell a whole lot, but when I do they are higher value items. I just sold a like new remote control. The buyer claims it was scratched and first message to me was it was scratched and he'd settle for a $200 refund. Ebay rolls over and allows this scam to happen. I refuse to give him a $200 refund and he request all of his money back. I sent the buyer very detailed photos and not one scratch was present. Ebay doesn't care and allows the scammer to get his way. I'm almost thinking he switched the remote.

Then I had a drone and the auction specifically states EXCACTLY what was included. I also explained the images showed everything I had and that it was a larger auction I had to split up. The seller ONLY went by the pictures and didn't read the VERY simplified description of only what was listed is what is included. I proved to ebay there was no policy violation, except the buyer who made a false claim items were missing that were described. It was 100% false, the buyer received exactly what was described. Ebay opens a case and only takes them two minutes to side with the buy and allow him to return it. I am done. Trying to close, but not sure if they will or not since the items are still on the way back, or pending shipment.

Re: ebay unfair to sellers

By the way, 24 years in ebay means nothing to a long time ebay member. They give these whinning babies everything that want. If the buy said he was missing a million dollars stupid ebay would believe them.

Re: ebay unfair to sellers

I've been on ebay for 24 years now versus most of these scammers have only been on a few years. This means nothing to ebay and for that ebay will continue to lose good ebay members.

Re: ebay unfair to sellers

The sellers are garbage to ebay and the buyers have way more power than they should. I'm done as of today. Trying to close my account, but not sure if they'll let me since two returns are still in limbo.

Re: ebay unfair to sellers

Ebay has been anti seller since they took away negative feedback for buyers years ago! I have been scammed by buyers and Ebay does not care. Such as buyers saying my item was damaged when it wasn't. And I had the proof.

No wonder ebay is going down hill.
